Day 1: Google AdWords 101

This workshop will accelerate your ability to manage and optimize campaigns and make better online business decisions.

If you're just getting started with Google AdWords™ or could use a refresher on the fundamentals, then this is the seminar for you. Our new hands-on Google AdWords™ training focuses on how AdWords™ works, how to create and structure your account, and how to create a campaign from start to finish. Quizzes and real-world examples using live accounts help make the learning tangible. This course is ideal for anyone who needs to restructure their campaigns or create them from scratch.

Google AdWords 101 course will cover:

  • Understanding what online advertising is and where AdWords™ fits in
  • How Quality Score works and why it's so important in the AdWords auction
  • How to structure your account, campaigns and ad groups to position yourself for success
  • How to research, identify and refine the keywords and match types you'll be bidding on
  • Tips for writing great text ads that will stand out from the competition

Pre-requisites:

This course assumes no prior knowledge of AdWords™. While having an account is not a prerequisite, past attendees have found it helpful to have an AdWords™ account and some experience in the interface prior to attending. We strongly recommend all attendees to bring a wi-fi enabled laptop that has AdWords Editor (free download) installed on it.

Day 2: Google AdWords 201

Building on the foundation of AdWords 101, this seminar expands upon the basics to show you how to optimize and power up your campaigns. We’ll dig into Enhanced Campaigns, diagnostic and campaign expansion tools, optimization techniques, and leveraging AdWords for display advertising. And to be sure that you see how it fits together, we’ll work live from the interface using real-world account data. This includes integrating Google Analytics with your AdWords™ campaigns to truly measure the return on your advertising investment.

Google AdWords 201 course will cover:

  • Use contextual, placement, topic and audience targeting techniques to find the right places to put your ads
  • Connect with your audience on millions of websites using image, video, and rich media display ad formats
  • Use tools like the Google Ad Planner, the Placement Targeting Tool and the Contextual Targeting Tool to find display opportunities
  • Use remarketing to identify and target prospective customers with laser focused messaging
  • Leverage the opportunity created by mobile devices and effectively advertise to smart phone and tablet users
  • Use dynamic keyword insertion (DKI) to quickly and efficiently create text ads on the fly that speak the specific language of the searcher

Day 3: Google Analytics 101

Whether you're brand new to Google Analytics or looking for a refresher on the basics, Analytics 101 is the seminar for you. In this course, we focus on providing you with a broad introduction to all of the reports – and more importantly, the insights – that Google Analytics can generate. We'll show you how to understand who your visitors are, how they got to your site, what they did while they were there, and how valuable they really are. Even if you've never used the program before, this Google Analytics training will leave you knowing more than enough to be dangerous.

Google Analytics 101 is an overview seminar that will guide you through learning the user interface, understanding the various types of reports that are available, and how to find actionable insights in your data. While we don't assume you'll have any prior experience with the program, it's a good idea to at least create your account before attending the Google Analytics course. Here’s what we'll cover.

  • An introduction to web analytics in general, and Google Analytics in particular
  • The dozens of reports Google Analytics provides you "out of the box"
  • Generating actionable insights from your website’s data
  • Measuring business outcomes rather than just counting visitors

Day 4: Google Analytics 201

Google Analytics 201 goes much deeper than the 101 course, exposing you to advanced features and analysis techniques. You'll learn how to use powerful tools like Advanced Segments and Multi-Channel Funnels, while seeing real-world analysis techniques you can apply to your SEO efforts, your SEM campaigns, and much more. By the time you walk out of this Google Analytics seminar, you'll be a budding Analytics ninja – not just a report squirrel.

In Analytics 201, we assume you already know the fundamentals of Google Analytics, such as how to navigate your account and use the basic features of the reports. As such, we dive directly into more sophisticated tools like advanced campaign tracking, Advanced Segments, and Custom Reports. We don't stop there – you'll also learn how to use game-changing features like Multi-Channel Funnels and Flow Visualizations. This analytics course isn't just about learning how to use features, though. We'll also show you concrete, real-world analysis techniques that you can take back to work and start applying right away. Should I bring my laptop for the workshop?

Yes, please bring a laptop to your classes so you can follow along on your own AdWords and Analytics account on some of the demonstrations. Power outlets will be available.

I can no longer make it to this event. Am I able to reschedule, or cancel my registration?

Yes, you can reschedule or cancel your event registration. A registration can be cancelled for a full refund (15) days prior to the event. We are also happy to transfer an existing registration.

Are meals included in the Program?

Yes. Veg. Lunch is included, as well as tea/coffee in the morning and afternoon.

How do I get directions to the event?

In the confirmation email you receive, there will be a link to the event page which will have a map of the location of your training classes as well as a link to the venue's website for any detailed logistical information. Unfortunately parking is not included in the course cost.

Is there anything I need to do to prepare for my class(es)?

In order to get the most out of your class(es), we recommend you spend a little time familiarizing yourself with the AdWords and Analytics interface. Please ensure you have Admin access to an AdWords account. If you don't have one yet, you can easily set one up to use for your class navigation. You also should also have AdWords Editor installed.

Will I be Google certified after the class? Will I write the exam during the class?

Our courses are intended to give you the foundation to become an Analytics or AdWords Ninja! They are designed to give you enough knowledge, with expert Instructors that you will be able to use the tools and write the exams. While these courses will certainly get you most of the way there, you won't be Google Adwords or Analytics Certified simply by virtue of having taken our courses. We do not administer the Google exams. In order to get certified, you will need to take a series of tests, provided by Google and we advise that you review the study materials provided by Google in advance of the test. We will do everything we can to help you learn, but we cannot guarantee that you will pass the exams as this depends on your abilities, comprehension and level of understanding of the tools.

We do provide Certificates of Participation, co-signed by Digital Academy and Cardinal Path at the end of your training days.
